For the purposes of applicable data protection law, FROZEN SKINS LTD is the data controller of the personal data described in this Privacy Policy, except where another organisation acts as an independent controller, such as a payment provider, bank, card issuer or Steam.
In this Privacy Policy, “FrozenSkins”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to FROZEN SKINS LTD. “User”, “you” and “your” refer to the person using the Platform.
This Privacy Policy applies to personal data processed through the FrozenSkins website, Store, user Account, Wallet, inventory features, customer-support services and related transactional functions.
It covers information processed when you purchase a Skin directly from FrozenSkins, submit or sell a Skin to us in exchange for Coins, use Coins to purchase eligible Items, connect or provide information about a Steam Account, use inventory tools or contact us about a transaction.
This Privacy Policy does not govern the independent privacy practices of third-party services. Steam, payment providers, banks, card issuers, Apple Pay and other external services process information under their own privacy policies and terms.
We process personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where relevant, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
We follow the principles of lawfulness, fairness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation, integrity, confidentiality and accountability.
This means that we seek to collect only the information reasonably necessary for specified purposes, keep it accurate where appropriate, protect it against unauthorised access and retain it only for as long as required.
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies because of the location of a User or the nature of our activities, we will also process personal data in accordance with its applicable requirements.
The information we collect depends on how you use FrozenSkins.
When you create or maintain an Account, we may collect your email address, username, Account identifier, password in encrypted or hashed form, preferred language, country or region, currency preferences and other profile information you provide.
We also maintain information about Account creation, verification, login activity, status, restrictions, security events and changes made to the Account.
You are responsible for ensuring that the information associated with your Account is accurate and current.
When you connect a Steam Account, provide a Steam Trade URL or use inventory-related services, we may process your Steam identifier, Steam profile name, profile URL, avatar, Steam Trade URL, public inventory information and trade-related status.
Depending on the relevant feature, inventory information may include Item names, item identifiers, weapon or Item types, float values, wear, exterior, rarity, quality, stickers, paint seed, pattern, phase, trade restrictions, availability and other Item-specific characteristics.
We may also process information about Steam Trade Offers sent to or received from your Steam Account, including the relevant Items, trade status, timestamps and confirmation or failure information.
We do not ask for or collect your Steam password. Authentication handled directly by Steam remains subject to Steam’s own privacy and security practices.
When you purchase a Skin, we may collect and maintain information about the Item selected, Item characteristics, displayed price, currency, applicable taxes, order date, order status, payment status, delivery status, Steam Trade Offer, refund status and transaction reference.
We may also record whether a purchase was made by direct payment, Coins or a permitted combination of payment methods.
When you submit or sell a Skin to us, we may process details of the submitted Item, the associated Steam Account, ownership and trade information, proposed valuation, accepted Coin amount, transfer status and the Coins credited to your Wallet.
We may retain records relating to the valuation of the Skin, including its wear, float, stickers, rarity, quality, exterior, pattern, phase, market indicators, liquidity, trade restrictions and other characteristics used to assess the Item.
Where necessary to investigate ownership, fraud, theft or account compromise, we may request additional information reasonably required to verify that you lawfully control the Steam Account and the relevant Skin.
We process information concerning your Wallet and Coin activity, including your current balance, Coins credited after a completed Skin sale, Coins spent on Store purchases, corrections, promotional credits, reversals and other balance adjustments.
Coins are linked to your FrozenSkins Account. We use Wallet records to complete purchases, maintain transaction histories, prevent unauthorised activity and resolve support or transaction disputes.
All direct payments are processed by independent third-party payment providers. When you pay using Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or another method displayed at checkout, your payment credentials are submitted directly to the relevant provider.
We do not receive or retain your full card number, card security code, Apple Pay authentication credentials or complete banking credentials.
The payment provider may send us limited information necessary to confirm and administer the transaction. This may include the payment status, transaction reference, amount, currency, billing country, masked card details, card type, payment method, fraud-risk indicators, authentication result, refund status and chargeback status.
The payment provider, your bank, card issuer or digital-wallet provider may act as an independent data controller for the personal data it processes.
When you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, Account details, transaction reference, Steam information and the contents of your communication.
We may retain support requests, complaint records, attachments, screenshots and our responses to investigate the matter, provide assistance, improve our services and maintain evidence of how a request or dispute was handled.
Please do not send passwords, full payment card numbers, card security codes or other unnecessary sensitive information through customer-support forms or email.
We collect personal data directly from you when you create an Account, provide information, connect Steam, submit a Steam Trade URL, purchase or sell a Skin, use Coins, complete verification or contact support.
We may also receive information automatically from your device and browser when you use the Platform.
Certain information may be received from third parties, including Steam, payment providers, fraud-prevention services, analytics providers, technical-service providers, banks, card issuers and other organisations involved in a transaction.
We may combine information obtained from different sources where necessary to operate the Platform, verify a transaction, maintain Account security, investigate suspected fraud or comply with legal obligations.
We process personal data only where we have a lawful and legitimate reason to do so.
We use Account, Steam, inventory and technical information to register and maintain your Account, authenticate access, connect permitted features, display inventory data and provide the services you request.
This processing is generally necessary to perform our contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
We use transaction, Account, Steam and limited payment-status information to process orders, confirm payments, deliver purchased Skins through Steam Trade Offers, maintain transaction records and provide support.
This processing is generally necessary to perform our contract with you and to comply with accounting, consumer-protection and other legal obligations.
When you submit or sell a Skin to FrozenSkins, we use Steam, inventory, valuation, transfer and Account information to evaluate the Item, make an offer, verify the transfer and credit the agreed Coins to your Wallet.
This processing is necessary to take steps at your request and to perform the resulting transaction.
We process Wallet and Coin information to calculate balances, credit Coins, apply Coins to eligible purchases, correct errors, reverse invalid credits and maintain a record of Account activity.
This is necessary to provide the Coin functionality forming part of our contract with you and to protect our legitimate interests in maintaining accurate financial and transactional records.
We process Account, payment-status, Steam, inventory, device and technical information to identify suspicious activity, stolen payment methods, compromised Accounts, unauthorised Skin transfers, duplicate Accounts, chargeback abuse, automated attacks and other security risks.
This processing is based on our legitimate interests in preventing fraud, protecting Users, securing the Platform and establishing or defending legal claims. In some circumstances, it may also be necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
We process Account, transaction, Steam and communication information to respond to questions, investigate delivery issues, manage complaints, assess refund requests and resolve ownership, payment or chargeback disputes.
This processing may be necessary to perform our contract, comply with consumer-protection obligations or pursue our legitimate interests in providing support and resolving disputes.
We may process personal data to maintain accounting and tax records, respond to lawful requests, enforce legal rights, comply with court orders, observe sanctions requirements and meet regulatory obligations.
Where processing is required by law, the applicable legal obligation forms the lawful basis.
We may analyse technical, usage, transaction and support information to monitor performance, fix errors, improve search and inventory tools, understand how features are used and develop new services.
Where possible, we use aggregated or de-identified information for these purposes. Where personal data is processed, we rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving the Platform.
Strong Customer Authentication may require a customer to verify a payment using two or more independent authentication elements, such as something the customer knows, possesses or inherently is. UK rules place the principal authentication obligation on payment service providers, subject to permitted exemptions. (FCA)
Where Strong Customer Authentication applies, the relevant payment provider, card issuer, bank or digital-wallet service may ask you to confirm the payment using a password, one-time code, banking application, biometric check or another supported method.
FrozenSkins does not receive the secret authentication factors used during this process. We may receive only the payment provider’s result confirming whether authentication or an available exemption was successfully applied.
A payment may be delayed or rejected if the required authentication is not completed.
The payment providers processing transactions on the Platform are responsible for applying payment-services requirements relevant to their services, including Strong Customer Authentication where required.
FrozenSkins supports this process by integrating with payment providers and not attempting to bypass their authentication or security controls.
Because we do not collect complete payment credentials or act as the User’s card issuer or payment account provider, payment authentication is performed by the relevant regulated payment participants.
The use of an exemption from Strong Customer Authentication does not necessarily mean that a payment is insecure. Payment providers may apply legally permitted exemptions based on transaction type, risk assessment, amount or other regulatory criteria.
We do not sell personal data to advertisers or data brokers.
We may share personal data only where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
We may engage hosting providers, cloud-storage services, cybersecurity providers, customer-support platforms, analytics services, email providers, database providers and other processors that help us operate the Platform.
These providers may access personal data only to the extent necessary to perform their contracted services and are expected to apply appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
Limited transaction and Account information may be shared with payment providers, banks, card issuers, Apple Pay participants and fraud-prevention services where necessary to process a payment, refund, authentication request, chargeback or fraud investigation.
Complete payment credentials are provided directly by you to the relevant payment provider and are not collected by FrozenSkins.
Information necessary to identify a Steam Account, evaluate inventory and send or receive a Steam Trade Offer may be processed through Steam and related technical integrations.
Steam independently controls its own systems and data-processing practices.
Some service providers may process personal data outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area.
Where an international transfer is restricted under applicable data protection law, we use an approved transfer mechanism or another lawful safeguard. Depending on the destination and circumstances, this may include UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved EU Standard Contractual Clauses, EU Standard Contractual Clauses or another legally recognised mechanism.
Approved contractual safeguards impose obligations on the sender and recipient and are intended to preserve an appropriate level of protection after the information is transferred.
Where required, we assess the circumstances of the transfer and whether additional technical, contractual or organisational measures are appropriate.
You may contact us for further information about the safeguards relevant to your personal data.
We use technical and organisational security measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, accidental loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
Depending on the nature of the information and risk, these measures may include encryption in transit, password hashing, controlled administrative access, role-based permissions, authentication controls, secure hosting, logging, monitoring, backups, vulnerability management and periodic security reviews.
Access to personal data is limited to employees, contractors and service providers that reasonably require it for their work. They are subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
We also review access permissions, assess security controls and provide relevant personnel with instructions or training concerning data protection and secure information handling.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using a strong and unique password, protecting access to your email and Steam Accounts, reviewing Steam Trade Offers carefully and notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised Account activity.
FrozenSkins may use cookies and similar technologies to keep Users signed in, maintain security, remember preferences, support checkout, measure Platform performance and understand how services are used.
Strictly necessary cookies may be placed without optional consent where legally permitted because they are required to provide a service or protect the Platform.
Analytics, advertising or other non-essential technologies will be used only where an appropriate lawful basis exists and any required consent has been obtained.
Further information about cookie types, purposes, providers and retention periods should be provided in the FrozenSkins Cookies Policy.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to personal data we hold about you and receive information about how it is processed.
You may also have the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, deletion of personal data, restriction of processing, objection to processing based on legitimate interests and receipt of certain information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Certain rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. For example, we may be required to retain transaction records despite a deletion request, or we may refuse a request that would adversely affect another person’s rights, compromise fraud prevention or conflict with a legal obligation.
You also have the right to raise concerns about certain forms of automated decision-making and request human review where applicable.
To exercise a data protection right, contact us at [email protected].
Please explain the request and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant Account and personal data. We may ask for reasonable verification before disclosing, deleting or changing information.
We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Where a request is complex or numerous requests are submitted, the response period may be extended where legally permitted, and we will inform you where this applies.
Data protection requests are normally handled without charge. However, a reasonable fee may be charged, or a request may be refused, where it is manifestly unfounded or excessive, to the extent permitted by law.
Please contact us first if you have a concern about how we process personal data so that we can investigate it.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Information about data protection rights and complaints is available through the ICO. A privacy notice should explain this complaint route to individuals.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may also have the right to complain to the competent data protection authority in your country of residence, workplace or the place of the alleged infringement.
You must keep your FrozenSkins login credentials, email Account and Steam Account secure.
You should not share your password, authentication codes or access credentials with another person. You must review the domain and Steam Trade Offer details before confirming a transaction.
If you believe that your FrozenSkins Account, email Account, Steam Account or payment method has been compromised, you should contact us promptly and separately notify the relevant Steam, email, bank or payment provider.
We may temporarily restrict an Account where necessary to investigate suspected unauthorised access or protect the User.
The Platform may contain links to Steam, payment providers or other third-party websites and services.
We do not control those services and are not responsible for their privacy practices, content or security. Accessing a third-party service may result in that organisation collecting personal data independently.
You should review the privacy policy of each third party before providing information.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, regulatory guidance, Platform functionality, payment processing, Steam integrations, security practices or our business operations.
The updated version will be published on the Platform with a revised “Last updated” date.
Where a change materially affects how we use personal data, we will provide additional notice where required, for example through the Platform, Account or registered email address.
Where processing requires consent, a change to this Privacy Policy will not replace the need to obtain consent where applicable.
This Privacy Policy and our processing of personal data are primarily governed by the data protection laws applicable in the United Kingdom.
Users located outside the United Kingdom may also have rights under mandatory data protection laws applicable in their country or region.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy limits any right that cannot lawfully be restricted.
